1. Why did you choose to study in Taiwan?
At first, I chose Taiwan because of my acquaintance’s recommendation, as she graduated from Taiwan and majored in food science. Also hearing lots of international students say Taiwan has relatively affordable tuition fees and a safer environment encouraged me to come to Taiwan to pursue further education. Choosing food science as my path of education is purely my desire because I have always been interested in how food is made and watching Taiwan's food industries have developed a lot through the years made me consider Taiwan as a place to continue my study.
2. How does the department help international students in their studies and lives?
Food Science Department teachers helped a lot during the study process, introducing us to Taiwan's food industry conditions and making us understand how most of the food factories here worked. Also, the department office usually provides students with information about scholarships and food development-related seminars.
3. What do you gain from studying in Taiwan?
I learned plenty about Taiwanese culture, foods, lifestyle, etc. I also understand the differences in food industries between Taiwan, my country, and other foreign countries.
4. Do you recommend students from your own country to study in Tunghai?
I will surely recommend Taiwan to my friends who want to undertake further education at a more advanced level or to learn Taiwan's Chinese language and culture.
